Famous for producing monster waves in the winter, this is one of the first places that surfers in the 1950s started to ride the giants. During the summer, the surf subsides and you can enjoy wonderful swimming and snorkeling. The beach is large and wide, so there’s room to spread out, but parking is limited. Most people park across the street and walk.
- A large rock in the bay is a famous “jumping off” spot for local kids.
- There is little shade here, so bring an umbrella, sunscreen and water if you plan to stay long.
- Keep an eye out for turtles and spinner dolphins!
