The sunny, windy easternmost point on Oahu is a favorite lookout onto the windward coastline, from Waimanalo all the way beyond Kaneohe. A paved hike, moderate in difficulty, leads to several overlook points where neighbor islands Lanai and Molokai can be seen on clear days, as can humpback whales in season. The beautiful red-topped lighthouse itself, built in 1909, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
