Kahana Bay is one of Windward Oahu’s well-kept secrets. The bay is in a cove surrounded on three sides by the towering, lush Koolau Mountains, making this a scenic place to sunbathe or have a picnic. Locals camp and barbecue on the weekends, but during the week it’s quiet and uncrowded.
- At the south end of the bay are Kahana Stream and an ancient Hawaiian fishpond known as Hulua.
- Nice waves for beginning bodysurfers
- Ironwood trees line the beach, offering shade and nice spots to spread out a picnic.
