Although this is one of the busiest beaches on the leeward side, it’s rarely crowded. It’s great for swimming during the summer months, but in the winter, high surf and a sharp reef mean only experienced surfers should get in the water. This is the dry side of the island, so it’s usually sunny, and sunsets are beautiful.
- Swimmers should enter the water in the middle section of the beach, where there is no reef.
- Local families gather here on the weekends to barbecue, kick back and relax.
- Open-water shower across the street is the best on Oahu.
