Whether for May Day or just to have fun, we start making flower lei as kids. We wear them with pride on special occasions, and we’d say that your vacation in Hawaii is pretty special.
At Royal Hawaiian Center, Naomi Wahinekaupua Braine and her daughter, Alex, of Aunty Bella’s Lei Stand, share the kui method of stringing flowers using special lei needles. Seasonal flowers, string and lei needles are provided. Classes accommodate up to 25 participants for the one-hour lessons in building A, near PF Chang.
